Mumbai University is one of the oldest university in Maharastra and is ranked amongst the top 5 universities in India. There are over 700 colleges affiliated to the University of Mumbai. 2.5 lakh students have applied and over 7.8 Lakh applications have been received. Since the University has released the first cut-off list, there is a hustle-bustle among students. To make things easy for the students, we have prepared a Mumbai University admission guide. We will begin by exploring the merit lists and would move to the essential documents required.
Mumbai University Admission 2019
There are a total of three merit lists each year, and the first merit list was released on 17th June 2019. The second and third merit lists are expected to release on 20th and 21st June respectively. If we look at last year’s trends, the cut-off for the Mithibai College BA Programme was 94.24%. The cut off for Poddar College was 94% for B.Com (Hons). On the other hand, the cut off for Humanities and Sciences were comparatively low-86.31 and 89.80 % respectively. There is a slight rise in the cut-off this year.

NOTE: The candidate’s names are declared on the merit list. Although the admission is based on the cut-off, the university releases the name of the students who are selected. Also, the cut-off is calculated for your 5 subjects, and not best of four.
What documents are required to get Admission In Mumbai University?
Once the list is released, the next step is document verification. Keep all the documents handy with you. The process began on 18th June and will end on 20th June 2019. Here is a list of documents which are required:
• Passport size photograph
• Scanned signature
• Self-attested class 10 certificate/mark sheet containing the date of birth
• Self-attested class 12 mark sheet
• Self-attested copies of sports and/or ECA certificates
• SC/ST/PWD/CW/KM/OBC Certificate (as applicable)
• Economically Weaker Section quota or EWS Certificate (as applicable)
Note: Although original documents are not required for admission, these are required during the verification of documents. Therefore, keep all the original documents.
Hence, the admission process is quite simple. Once you have applied, all you need to do is wait for the merit list, and rush to the college to save your seat.
