1.1 How To get Admission in Delhi University Through Merit

According to the trends, students require 96-98% in the top colleges for courses like Psychology, Economics, B.Com, etc. On the other hand, Science courses have comparatively lower cut off. Things to keep in mind while taking admission
- There is a centralised form to be filled with all the details. It should be noted that all the courses should be marked at the time of filling the form. Otherwise, the student will not be able to take a seat at the time the “cut off lists” are released.
- Once the cut off is released, rush to the respective colleges to book your seat with all your documents.
- In addition to this, starting this year it is mandatory to add Mathematics in your best four if you are applying for B.Com (Hons) and Economic (Hons). Also, marks in Mathematics should be at least 50.
- Avoid adding vocational subjects like Physical Education, Fine Arts, etc. in your best 4. Otherwise, there will be a deduction in your marks (around 2).
- If you are changing your stream, there is a deduction of 2.5 %. For example: If you are a PCM student and are applying for Psychology (Hons), you are changing your stream from Science to Humanities.
1.2 How to get admission in Delhi University through Entrance Exams
The second way to make your way in Delhi University is through appearing in the entrance exams. In addition, few colleges also conduct a group discussion and personal interview. Let’s understand each course in detail.
1-Bachelor in Management Studies (BMS): The admission in BMS is through Joint Entrance Test (JET), which is followed by group discussion and personal interview. Besides performance on the entrance, weight is also given to class XIIth marks. JET is also conducted for Bachelors in Bussiness Economics (BBE), and BBA (FIA). The entrance will assess you over your Numerical Ability, Analytical Skills, General Knowledge and English.

2-Mass Communication and Journalism: To get admission in such programs, each college conducts its own entrance exam. The students are evaluated on general knowledge, logical reasoning and English. Personal Interview and Group Discussion is also conducted by a few colleges.

1.3 How to get admission in Delhi University through Extra Curricular Activity Quota (ECA Quota)

If you have represented your country, your state, or even your zone, you can apply under the sports quota. Just as in ECA quota, there are trials for sports quota too. 40 Marks are given to your certificates (according to the student’s level of representation) and 60 Marks are for trials.
